About Jaure Performance Horses

Our Team

Jaure Performance Horses is a full family affair. From ultra sounding mares, collecting stallions and foaling out our own mares to riding colts on the ranch and competing on these horses, each family member plays a part in keeping this operation running as smoothly as possible.

The kids have always been great de-sensitizers for my colts, playing and goofing off at a safe distance while colts are tied up and observing.

We all enjoy roping and rodeo, and that is what has molded our breeding program. We are looking for an all-around horse, something that can be our next head or heel horse, calf roping and breakaway horse, and is still competitive in the barrel racing and pole bending.

Chuck has grown up on the family ranch, raising sheep and cattle throughout the years. Chuck started team roping in high school and has won money and several saddles on both ends. He has trained his own horses and knows what it takes to make a top notch head or heel horse.

Chuck started raising a herd of corriente cattle and producing roping events 15 years ago and today continues to raise a herd of roping cattle that people run to buy every spring.

Chuck is a major player in the breeding aspect of our program, helping Erica plan potential magic crosses and helping collect stallions.

He is a wonderful supporter to Erica as she takes the colts to season at barrel futurities.

Erica grew up on her families ranch in the Little Snake River Valley. Erica competed in all rodeo events throughout high school and college.

Her dad threw her on colts

Tess is Erica's little barrel racer. She has taken over one of Erica's 6 year old geldings and is really starting to learn how to help her horse through the pattern.

Tess is fearless, hopping on any horse and exercising them. She loves to ride for cattle and is up early if it involves horses. She is a hard worker, cleaning stalls or the tack room floor to help finish up the day's work.

Tess will no doubt be the jockey here in a couple of years, pulling prospects from her mom's training program to take to the jackpot.

Truett has a love for roping and looks forward every year for branding season to start. Truett started dragging calves to the branding irons at a young age and is becoming a wonderful ranch hand.

He is kind to all animals and lets his horses do their job without getting in their way.

Truett helps his Mom exercise horses and is starting to follow cattle on the heeling end.

He is looking forward to starting the Junior rodeo season, learning how to breakaway rope and calf tie.
